All in line to see the “Ara Pacis” brightened by the true colors of History to celebrate Emperor Augustus
Last night a large number of Romans and tourists were standing in line to attend the show of the “Ara Pacis” disclosing its marbles colored as they should have been.
Because of the large number of visitors, the exceptional Show and opening of the Museum of the Ara Pacis will be extended until September 7th every Friday and Saturday from 9 pm to 12 am when the marbles of the monument and its bas-reliefs, will be “turned on” on both the west and east sides.
The colors of the paintings that illuminate the Ara reconstructions, are those expected, after laboratory analysis and research by the study group supervising the Museum, on the use of color in Roman architecture.
