Today you will explore, with your English-speaking driver, one of the prime wine regions of Italy: the Langhe, home to Nebbiolo grape, and to Barolo and Barbaresco wine.
After some time at leisure in the quaint village of Barolo, step in a local winery for the first tasting, entirely dedicated to Barolo wine.
The winery you stop at was founded in 1761, and still observes the traditional Langhe’s vinification in concrete, instead than wood or steel. Concrete was already used by the Romans, and its main plus is that it stabilizes the temperature and allows micro-oxygenation without imparting any additional flavor.
Head now for La Morra, a delightful little hamlet offering narrow alleys and a terrace with breath-taking views. Just outside La Morra, stop at a winery set amidst vineyards. Here, visit the cellar and taste a selection of four wines, accompanied by cheese, cold cuts and local appetizers.
During the tour, your driver will give you all the basic information you need to fully enjoy the day and to move around the places on your own.
