Self Drive

DAY 1: Madrid: You will be met at the airport on arrival in Madrid and transferred to your chosen hotel. A hostess will meet you at your hotel for a short orientation session and answer any questions you may have. The balance of day is yours to explore Madrid. Stroll the many squares of Madrid or perhaps take a visit to the world famous Prado Museum.

DAY 2: Madrid: After breakfast, you will be met by your private guide for a morning walking guided city tour of the historical centre of the city, known as Madrid of the Hapsburgs.Your guide will escort you as you visit the spectacular Royal Palace, no longer a Royal Residence but which remains in use today for official Government ceremonies. The remainder of the day will be at your leisure.

DAY 3: Madrid/Toledo/La Mancha/Granada: After breakfast, you will be driven to Toledo, where you will have a guided visit to one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe. You will visit the magnificent Cathedral and at StTome ́s Church, see the renowned El Greco masterpiece–“The Burial of the Count of Orgaz”. You will then head through the flat region of La Mancha, where you will stop to see the windmills whom Don Quixote famously confused with giants before continuing onto Granada. Overnight

DAY 4: Granada: After breakfast, you will be taken by your guide to visit the fabulous Alhambra Palace, widely regarded as being one of the 10 architectural wonders of the world. Both graceful and mighty, this citadel, laced in stone is a breathtaking site, along side the beautiful Genera life gardens. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight.

DAY 5: Granada/Cordoba/Seville: After breakfast, you will be taken to Cordoba, where you will have a guided tour of the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit the 8^th Century Mosque which combines Islamic, Baroque and Gothic design and is internationally recognized as an architectural treasure. Later,Continue to Seville. Overnight

DAY 6: Seville: This morning you enjoy a guided walking city tour, in the most romantic city in Spain. Highlights include a visit to the Cathedral, considered the world’s largest Gothic edifice. Afterwards, stop for some photos of La Giralda tower before strolling through the narrow lane of Seville’s delightful Santa Cruz District, a former Jewish Quarter. Your afternoon will be as you wish–options include a trip on the Guadalquivir river, or a visit to the Royal Alcazar perhaps. Overnight

DAY 7: Seville-Madrid: After breakfast, you will be transferred to the main rail station for your onward train to Madrid. An enjoyable way to conclude your tour as you relax and enjoy the high-speed train journey that will have you in Madrid in under 3hrs. Once in Madrid, it is the end of the tour.
