Itinerary:

Day 1: Madrid – San Sebastian: Pick up your rental car and drive for about 5 hours until you reach San Sebastian, one of Spain´s most elegant cities, where you will spend your first night. After checking in at your selected hotel, the rest of the day is yours to discover the city at your own pace. Take a walk along La Concha Beach and Promenade, or head to Mount Igueldo and take the funicular railway to see the fantastic views.

Day 2: San Sebastian – Bilbao: Breakfast. Before departure to Bilbao we suggest a walking tour through the historical heart of the city with a private guide (Optional). Afterwards, you will continue to Bilbao along the Basque Coast through the beautiful natural landscapes and pass some charming small towns such as Zarautz, and Gernika before reaching Bilbao. Once in Bilbao you can have your own gastronomic experience walking through the narrow streets and tasting an endless selection of different Pintxos at the Taverns to be enjoyed with wine. Overnight Stay in Bilbao.

Day 3: Bilbao – Santander – Santillana del Mar: Breakfast. This morning, we suggest a visit to the Guggenheim Museum with a private guide (Optional) and then continue your journey towards Santander. We suggest you drive through the town and El Sardinero before continuing to Santillana del Mar, one of the most beautiful middle age towns in the region of Cantabria region, and a gateway to the Picos de Europa National Park and to the most popular beaches such as Comillas. Overnight stay in Santillana del Mar.

Day 4: Santillana – Picos de Europa National Park/ Santillana del Mar: Breakfast. We suggest that this morning you enjoy a leisurely walk in Santillana and visit the museum of Altamira (*) or take your car and drive towards the Picos de Europa mountains for a full day excursion. A private guided tour of this medieval village is also possible (Optional). Overnight stay in Santillana del Mar. 

Day 5: Santillana – Llanes – Gijón: Breakfast. Today we suggest you drive along the coast of the ancient kingdom of Asturias. Your drive will take you through the beautiful towns such as Llanes or Ribadesella before you reach your destination, Gijon. In Gijon, amongst other things, we suggest walking through the promenade “El Muro”. To the left, and close to the beach, there is a small peninsula with Roman bath ruins. The peninsula is a high rock turned into a park with a sculpture by Basque sculpture Eduardo Chillida called Elogio del Horizonte – Eulogy to the Horizon – that faces out to see. A great spot to hear the sounds from the sea and to watch the sunset. Overnight stay in Gijon

Day 6: Gijón – Oviedo: Breakfast: Today you will drive to Oviedo, the capital of this ancient kingdom. On the way to Oviedo we suggest you visit another essential place, the pre-Romanesque jewels of Naranco, with the Palace of Santa Maria del Naranco and the Church of San Miguel de Lillo. Overnight Stay in Oviedo.

Day 7: Oviedo – Leon Breakfast: Before departing to Leon we suggest a walking visit of Oviedo with a private guide (Optional). Afterwards, continue to Leon for your overnight stay.

Day 8: Leon – Madrid: After breakfast we suggest a walking visit to the city with a private guide (Optional). Later, continue to Madrid where upon arrival you will drop off the rental car, bringing an end to your tour. End of the services.
