Island of Different Flavors and Artisan Finds

Algarve local flavors
Loulé traditional market

Discover Loulé, one of the busiest towns in the Algarve countryside, and its picturesque covered market.

Built in 1908 and renovated in 2007, the market is the main attraction of Loulé, a magnificent building of neo-Arabic style. The interior is filled with family stalls selling products produced locally or locally sourced products, such as fish, fruits, vegetables, and a wide variety of handicrafts. Even today, we find artisans who make copper objects, delicate work, and beautiful and valuable pottery.

You will have the chance to be with special people that make the place alive and get the opportunity to taste the regional pastries and taste dried fruits that are always served with Medronho shot (traditional firewater).

Visit an Oyster Farm

More fresh is impossible!

The Ria Formosa oyster has a taste impossible to beat. If you do not just want to enjoy it fresh at a restaurant, you can also go straight to where the magic starts.

Visit an oyster farm on the breathtakingly beautiful island of Culatra. You will be welcomed personally by the island president, who has many surprising facts about the island life and future, the locals, and of course, about oysters, to tell. Culatra is not only a beautiful tourist destination but also a pioneer in sustainability. Needless to say, the oysters will be tasted on the spot.

There is plenty of time to relax on one of the idyllic beaches and then stop at one of the rustic restaurants.
