Etna and Wine – Full Day from Catania

After leaving the city, you’ll be on the way up to Rifugio Sapienza and stop at some view points. You’ll be given all the information you need by the guide, that will also tell you all the details of our culture and the Etna area. You will live in the places of the last eruptions and see the old Silvestri Craters. From Rifugio Sapienza (1920 mamsl) you can choose one of these options:

Trekking with the guide around the area at 2000m of Etna Park.

Buy the Etna high altitude tour: this is an option that gives you the opportunity to reach a higher altitude by taking a cable car from 2000 to 2500 m and a 4×4 bus from 2500 m to 2900. You’ll be amazed by a spectacular view surrounded by the last lava flows and the extinct craters of recent formation. Once you’ve reached 2900 m asl, the Alpine Guide will take you for a walk along where the volcano showed its life. At the end of the promenade, you will reach Rifugio Sapienza again by cable car and 4×4 bus.

The excursion will continue with the visit of a lava tube with helmets and torches and will then end by visiting one of the best wineries of the volcano, where you will sample one sparkling wine and four glasses of local wines, with cold cuts, cheese, pate, and olive oils locally produced.

DEPARTURE TIME: 08:30AM – We ask you to be ready in the hotel hall 15 minutes before the time. In case of delays, the tour guide will not wait for you.
