The Best of French Riviera: Eze, Parfumarie, Monaco, and Many More!

The best way to discover the French Riviera.

Located between sea and mountain, Nice, the economic capital of the French Riviera, has essential natural and touristic assets.

You will start the tour with a view from the Mont Boron area, where you can enjoy a beautiful panorama over the Nice/Villefranche.

You will then drive on the middle ‘Corniche’ road along the dramatic coastline to EZE: A medieval village: The village hides many shops and crafts within its labyrinthine streets. Atop the village, you can find a ruined castle and an exotic garden with amazing views of the coast. You will have some free time to visit this typical medieval village. Walk along the narrow lanes, appreciate the beauty of stone buildings and venture into the local shops. Eze clings to the cliffs over 1000 feet above the sea. Try to walk to the top to enjoy an amazing view from the garden – the entrance fee is not included.

PERFUME FACTORY FRAGONARD (free guided visit): You will enjoy a free guided visit to the famous perfume factory “Fragonard.” A few minute drive on the low ‘corniche’ road.

MONACO: Monaco is a constitutional monarchy and a city-state of only two km². The Grimaldi family owns it, which has reigned almost without interruption since the 13th century. Discover the old Monaco, the Cathedral, the changing of the guards.

Your first stop is in the old town of Monaco. There you will have a chance to see the changing of the guards in front of the Prince’s palace (at noon) and the Cathedral where Princess Grace is buried. Enjoy a walk on the tiny streets to do some souvenir shopping during your free time. You will then drive on the legendary F1 Grand Prix track onto the casino square.

MONTE-CARLO: the casino, and its luxury shops: Enjoy a stop in the heart of the Monegasque luxury! Admire unique sports cars, designer shops, luxury hotels, and the famous Casino of Monte Carlo.

ANTIBES: between modernity and tradition…: It was founded in Roman time (and was a former military garrison) and fell into the hands of the Grimaldi family for a long time. The traditional fishing town then evolved into seeing its port, becoming known as the “billionaires’ quay”: enjoy some free time and see the largest and wildest yachts in the world. The medieval old town and its fortifications (16th century) offer a fantastic view over the Bay of Nice and a traditional Provençal covered market. Next to it, the Château Grimaldi houses the Picasso museum, which used to be the famous artist’s studio.

CANNES: the Film festival city, a place of glitz and glamour…Beyond the stir of international conventions and congresses, comes the thrill of holidaymakers dreaming of the Film Festival city, the red carpet, and the famous Croisette boulevard where many stars have left their mark. Next, you will drive on to Cannes along the coastline through the Cap d’Antibes (one of the most exclusive areas of the Riviera). Walk along and enjoy the view of 5-star hotels, designer shops and soak into the “Hollywood” atmosphere of the Croisette before taking your picture up the famous steps of the Film Festival place.

You will then drive on the toll road to reach the famous Provençal hilltop village of SAINT PAUL DE VENCE, the second most visited French village. In the early 1920s artists started discovering Saint Paul. Painters were forerunners who found an incomparable richness and intensity of light in the peaceful Provençal village. Famous artists such as Paul Signac, Raoul Dufy ou Chaïm Soutine will be later joined by Henri Matisse or Pablo Picasso.

The 1950s and 1960s represent the golden age of the village, which turned into a fantastic film set by many French and international stars could see. One of the most famous French actors, Yves Montand, fell in love and got married in St Paul.

Nowadays, this village is a renowned center of arts, whether modern, contemporary, naïf, abstract. You will find the streets to be open museums where artists such as Folon, César, Niky de Saint-Phalle have their works displayed in the windows of the galleries.

You will have free time to walk along the main street, where souvenir shops alternate with art galleries. Try crêpe or ice cream along the way. Do not miss a walk along the ramparts, which offers a beautiful view of the surrounding valley and the coast.
