The history of Saint-Tropez is closely linked to the sea.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Saint-Tropez experienced a new artistic and cultural destiny that was a prelude to the tourist craze.

The coming of Maupassant (writer), Paul Signac (painter), marks the beginning of a trend that will turn into a new golden age for Saint-Tropez, which will become the meeting place of artists at large (painters, writers, cinema people, etc.)

In the 1960s, Brigitte Bardot bought a property at a time when Saint-Tropez was merely a fishermen’s village. She then started this special bond with the town and initiated the foundation of the myth of Saint-Tropez.

Today the village is the unavoidable destination for famous people, sea lovers, history buffs, art and heritage addicts.

Behind this party place, the village managed to keep being authentic and genuine. Have a walk through the picturesque lanes and discover the atmosphere of a traditional town. 

After about an hour’s drive on the highway, you will reach Saint Raphael, enjoying a boat ride through the Gulf of Saint-Tropez (boat ride included – duration: about 20 minutes).

By avoiding the never-ending traffic jams of the summer, we can guarantee a minimum free time of 3 hours in the village.

You will have a considerable option of restaurants for lunch (not included).

Do not miss: the port, the old town, the local market on Tuesdays and Saturdays, a slice of the tarte tropézienne, and why not visit a museum.

After the shuttle-boat ride back, you will drive to Nice.
