Shared escorted tour 4 Days/3 Nights
Day 1 – Impressive Impressionists
This morning we will pick you up in a private minibus at your hotel or airport/ train station in Paris and you will meet your driver-guide. We will then head to Giverny for a guided visit of Claude Monet’s wonderful house and gardens. Monet lived here for forty-three years, from 1883 to 1926; and with his passion for gardening and colours, he conceived both his flower garden and water garden as veritable works of art. Walking through his house and gardens, visitors can still feel the atmosphere which reigned in the home of the Master of Impressionism and marvel at the floral compositions and water lilies, his greatest sources of Inspiration. The beautiful city of Bayeux is our next destination. There you will settle in your hotel where you will be accommodated for 3 nights.
Day 2 – Celebrating Heroes
This morning your guide is coming to pick you up at your hotel for a long emotional day where you will discover all the major sites in the U.S sector of the D-Day landings. St Mère-Eglise will be our first stop, where in the early morning of 6 June 1944 units of the U.S. 82nd Airborne and U.S. 101st Airborne Divisions occupied the town in Mission Boston, giving it the claim to be one of the first towns liberated in the invasion. Then the Airborne Museum, Utah beach, the Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and the US cemetery. Your guide will give you time on your own at the end, to either stay longer in the cemetery or save time for the Visitor Centre that was opened in 2007 by the American Battle Monuments Commission to commemorate the D-Day invasion of June 1944.
Day 3 – At the pace of the tide
Meet your driver guide in the lobby of your hotel and set out to visit one of the most impressive sites in France: Le Mont Saint-Michel. Perched on a rocky island in the midst of vast sandbanks, exposed to the powerful tides between Normandy and Britain stands the ‘Wonder of the West’. A visit to this exceptional site, with its village houses huddled close together over which towers the Abbey of the Mont-Saint-Michel, all of which is encircled by centuries-old ramparts, is an unforgettable experience. The breath-taking view from the peak is well worth the effort of the climb! We will drive back to your Hotel in Bayeux where you can enjoy a stroll through the old city and its lovely local atmosphere.
Day 4 – Au revoir
