ATHENS – MYCENAE – EPIDAVRUS – NAFPLIO – OLYMPIA –

Day 1: Arrival – Athens

Arrival in Athens Airport. Pick up and transfer to the hotel for check-in, dinner & overnight.

Day 2: Mycenae – Epidavrus – Nafplio

Breakfast and departure to Nafplio. On the way is a short stop at Corinth Canal before arriving to Mycenae, one of the major centers of Greek civilization, home to the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon. Further on to Epidaurus, UNESCO’S world heritage listed monument, which is reputed to be the birthplace of Apollo’s son Asklepios, the healer. Epidaurus is probably most famous for its theatre, one of the best preserved classical Greek buildings. Arrive in Nafplio for check-in, dinner & overnight.

Day 3: Nafplio – Olympia

After breakfast, departure to Olympia. Upon arrival at the archaeological site of Olympia you will explore the athletic venues, the sanctuary, the temple of Zeus, the place where the Olympic flame is lit for the modern Olympic games and the stadium. The tour continues in the museum. Check-in at the hotel, dinner & overnight.

Day 4: Olympia – Delphi

Breakfast and departure to Delphi, passing through the bridge of Rio-Antirio, Nafpaktos, Galaxidi & Itea Villages. Arrival in Delphi and visit the sanctuary of Athena Pronaia. Further on to the Castalian Spring for a short stop. Arrival at the hotel, check-in, dinner & overnight.

Day 5: Delphi – Kalambaka

Breakfast at the hotel and continuation of the visits to the archaeological site of Delphi. Famous for its Theater, Temple of Apollo and ancient ruins, Delphi was considered the center of the earth and the universe and played a central role in the classical Greek world. Departure to Kalambaka check-in at the hotel, dinner & overnight.

Day 6: Kalambaka – Athens

After breakfast in the morning, the tour starts in the area. One of the highlights in Greece the impressive Meteora, the byzantine monasteries which are “hanging” on the top of gigantic rocks. After the tour departure back to Athens. Dinner & overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Athens City Tour

After breakfast, pick up from the hotel in the morning and start exploring Athens with a panoramic tour passing by the main sights of the city. Continue your tour with a visit to the Acropolis Museum & Acropolis Hill. Free time in the beautiful square of Plaka. Dinner & overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Cape Sounio – Departure

Breakfast and check-out. Depart for a half day tour in Cape Sounio & the Temple of Poseidon. Visit Cape Sounio, known for the imposing sanctuary of Poseidon which is one of the most important archaeological sites of Attica! After lunch departure transfer to the airport of Athens for your flight back.
