DAY 3: Small group Louver highlights morning tour and dinner: Enjoy the morning visiting the most famous Museum in the world. The Louvre is a must-see in Paris, not just for its incredible art but for the history held within its walls. This was once a palace where princes rode their horses up and down the hallways; a sprawling complex fortified to protect the first family of France. Go beyond the obvious on our jam-packed Louvre Highlights Tour, peering behind the artworks to unlock their secrets. You will see famous French works like Géricault’s ‘Raft of Medusa’, which depicts the true story of shipwrecked sailors driven to cannibalism. Of course da Vinci’s ‘Mona Lisa’ will play a major role in your tour. At the sculpture gallery you will encounter another Italian in Michelangelo’s ‘Slaves’; plus Anthony Canova’s incredibly romantic ‘Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss’. You will also get a sense for that other use of the Louvre, as a royal palace. With your guide on hand to point out the details, you will notice the beautiful ceiling panels and explore a special room filled with crown jewels. After the tour you have afternoon at leisure to keep exploring the city with self visit, do not miss a pleasant walk to the magnificent Montmartre or Latin Quarter. In the evening get a great dinner experience with delicious French food at the bistrot “Le Petite Pontoise”, in the heart of the charming district of Saint Germain des Pres. Overnight.

DAY 4: Day trip to Loire Valley Castles with wine tasting: Spend the whole day visiting the marvelous Loire Valley with its magnificent Castles. This full-day trip from Paris is an opportunity to discover 2 of the Loire Valley’s most famous châteaux with an official guide. Visit the majestic Château de Chambord, surrounded by one of the largest forest parks in Europe and the charming Château de Chenonceau, built across the River Cher. Set off from the center of Paris at 7:15 a.m. for a special day touring the Loire Valley. Relax on a luxury air-conditioned coach as you take in the beautiful French countryside before arriving at Château de Chambord at around 9:30 a.m. Chambord is one of the largest châteaux in the Loire Valley, nestled in the middle of a huge hunting ground. It was built for King Francis I of France in the 16th century with the help of none other than Leonardo da Vinci. See the amazing double helix staircase, which represented the Tree of Life during the Middle Ages, and the château’s wide panoramic terrace with its sea of chimneys that overlook the grounds. Chenonceau, also known as the ‘The ladies’ castle’, was built during the 16th Century and has been home to many well-known aristocratic French ladies, such as Diane de Poitiers, Catherine de Medici and the White Queen, Louise de Lorraine. You could almost be dreaming as Chenonceau appears over the River Cher. Its fairytale architecture bears witness to a sophisticated and typically French style of living, with elegantly furnished floral rooms, tapestries, antique paintings and fascinating kitchens housed in the piers of the bridge that supports the château. At each château you will be taken on a tour lasting between 45 minutes and 1 hour, followed by free time to discover your own secret corners. Return to Paris at 20.00, evening at leisure. Overnight.

DAY 5: Afternoon tour to Versailles: Morning at leisure to relax after the long day trip of the previous day. But in the afternoon get ready to visit another world famous attraction of Paris surroundings. During your stay in Paris you can not miss a visit to the fascinating Palace of Versailles. The Palace of Versailles, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was the residence of French Kings Louis XIV, Louis XV, and Louis XVI and their courts, from 1682 until the French Revolution in 1789. It covers an area of over 721,000 square feet and has more than 700 rooms. Follow your guide straight to the front of the line to see the palace’s most beautiful rooms: the King’s Grand Apartments, with seven rooms each dedicated to a different god (Apollo, Mars, Mercy, Venus, etc.) and the Queen’s Grand Apartments, mirroring those of the king, including the Coronation Room and the Queen’s Bedroom. Also, admire the spectacular Hall of Mirrors, a unique room in which guests were received and impressed, designed by the famous architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart. In 1661, Louis XIV commissioned André Le Nôtre to lay out the gardens and grounds, something that was just as important as the construction of the palace in the king’s eyes. Enjoy your free time strolling through the Gardens of Versailles and admire the 386 works of art, fountains, ponds, flower beds, and trees. The return to Paris is at 18.00 approximately. Evening at leisure, again you have the chance to experience the famous Lido Show with any of our optional tours including access to the show and a glass of champagne or a complete dinner. Overnight.
