“Yes, it is possible to go out in Paris without spending a cent! Paris offers plenty of things to do at zero cost, whatever it is you fancy – going out for a meal, playing sport, watching a show, visiting an exhibition or taking part in a treasure hunt. See below some of our Tips

                                    A free meal at a bar or restaurant

You can get a meal for free or for next to nothing in Paris. Some bars and restaurants offer customers a free meal on condition they buy a drink.

Once or twice a week, depending on the season, restaurants like Le Bouillon Belge,Le GrenierLe Tribal Café and Les Trois Frères serve up a free dish of couscous or mussels and chips. You’ll want to arrive early to make sure you get a table.

There is a craze for the Italian-style aperitivo in Paris.  These Italian bars serve free appetizers of the kind you would eat in Milan when you purchase a glass of wine or a cocktail. At Delizie, an aperitivo is on the house from 6pm on. Le Culture Rapide puts on a free buffet spread on Friday evenings. At the Lockwood, you can enjoy a free aperitivo until 8.30pm.

Some museums, like the Musée Carnavalet, the Musée de la Vie Romantique and the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, offer free entry every day, all year round.

Other museums offer free entry on the first Sunday of each month, including the Musée d’Art Moderne, the Pompidou Centre and the Musée d’Orsay. Some museums, like the Louvre, the Conciergerie and the Sainte Chapelle, are free all year round for people under 26.

* Enroll in a Cookery Course     The Fédération Française de Cuisine Amateur and the City of Paris organize free cookery workshops at several Paris food markets. Professional chefs who teach at hotel management schools give advice and share their know-how. Participants prepare dishes made with produce bought at the market. You must book in advance: limited number of places available !
